Types of Driver’s License in British Columbia:
There are different types of BC Licenses for different purposes. Depending upon the purpose you can apply for the following type of Canadian Driving Licenses in British Columbia.
- Mopeds & Scooters.
- Class 5 or Class 7 Driving License.
- Motor Cycle Licenses.
- Commercial Licenses.
- Heavy Trailer Endorsement.
- House Trailer Endorsement.
Mopeds & Scooters:
No special class of driving license is required to apply for driving Mopeds and Scooters in British Columbia. Excluding class 5 or class 7 learner license holders all the above said types of license holders can drive the Mopeds and Scooters in British Columbia.
Class 5 or Class 7 BC Driver’s License:
Class 5 or Class 7 British Columbia Driving License is the most common driving license. By using Class 5 or Class 7 British Columbia Driving License, residents of BC can drive
- Cars, vans, trucks, utility vehicles etc.
- Vehicles up to 4600 kg.
- All terrain vehicles or a motor cycle with limited speed.
- 3-wheeled vehicles excluding the 3- wheeled motor cycles.
Motor Cycle Licenses/ Class 6 or Class 8 BC Driver’s License:
Class 6 or Class 8 BC Driving License holders can drive the following type of vehicles.
- Motor cycles.
- All-terrain cycles.
- All-terrain vehicles.
Commercial License:
In British Columbia there are four different types of commercial Licenses. They are
- Class 1.
- Class 2.
- Class 3.
- Class 4.
Class 1 BC Commercial Driver’s License:
The residents of British Columbia Province who are holding Class 1 commercial driving license they can drive the following vehicles:
- Semi Trailer Trucks.
- All other classes’ vehicles (class 1 to Class 5) or combination of vehicles.
Class 2 BC Commercial Driver’s License:
The residents of British Columbia Province who are holding Class 2 commercial driving license they can drive the following vehicles:
- Buses which includes School buses, special activity buses and Special vehicles.
- Eligible to drive all the vehicles which come under Class 4 and Class 5.
Class 3 BC Commercial Driver’s License:
The residents of British Columbia Province who are holding Class 3 commercial driving license they can drive the following vehicles:
- Trucks more than 2 axels.
- All other classes’ vehicles (class 1 to Class 5) or combination of vehicles.
Class 1 BC Commercial Driver’s License:
