The Federal Government of Canada will issue a standardized digital document with a watermark in the top right-side corner, while the establishment and maintenance of a federal database for health information has been delegated to the provinces. The main goal behind the introduction of vaccine passports is to make proof of vaccination verification easier for border service officers whilst still being just as secure. The new vaccination passports will also be easier to identify at international checkpoints than each vaccine passport issued by different provinces or territories.
